NTT DATA is a Leader in unified communication and collaboration services
27 May 2024
NTT DATA has been identified as a Leader in Everest Group’s Unified Communication and Collaboration (UCC) Specialist Services PEAK Matrix® Assessment 2024, a framework that assesses the market impact, vision and capabilities of service providers.
The assessment is based on information gathered by Everest Group from Q4 2023 to Q1 2024, including interactions with specialist UCC service providers, client reference checks and analysis of the UCC services market.
UCC services include migration services involving platforms like Microsoft 365; communication services, including cloud-based telephony; meeting services, including on platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex; workflow automation; intranet and knowledge management tools; and project management.
These services are in the spotlight as more than 6 in 10 workers globally are working remotely all or some of the time, creating a growing need for innovative and efficient communication and collaboration services within organizations. Rapid advances in AI, including generative AI, are also having an impact on UCC products and solutions, leading to smarter technology with more intuitive interfaces.
What makes a Leader in UCC services?
According to Everest Group, Leaders in specialist UCC services have built a successful business ecosystem based on years of capability building and experience. They differentiate themselves through an end-to-end UCC service portfolio, investments in developing new competencies and capabilities, and involvement in partner launch programs and collaborative offerings, among other traits.
Furthermore, Leaders are embracing cloud-based workplace solutions and developing solutions based on new technologies such as generative AI and immersive collaboration (using immersive technologies like virtual reality and augmented reality to create a sense of presence and engagement among participants, even if they are physically separated).
Robust, secure and capable
“Enterprises can benefit from NTT DATA’s robust capabilities across monitoring, analytics and self-service automation by leveraging its in-house accelerators such as NTT Universal Monitoring Application [referring to our back-end capabilities] and Nucleus,” says Everest Group in its commentary on the 2024 assessment.
Following the recent combination of NTT Ltd. and NTT DATA’s operations to create a unified portfolio that includes business and technology consulting, AI, applications, data and connectivity, “NTT DATA has capitalized on its telecom legacy and capabilities to position itself as an end-to-end UCC service provider, a strategy that is resonating well with enterprises”, Everest Group adds.
“Enterprises can expect strong intranet and knowledge management capabilities from NTT DATA, supported by its internal intellectual property (IP) and solutions such as TŌGŌ and knowler.”
The statement concludes: “NTT DATA leads with a secure-by-design UCC vision, reinforced by its in-house IP solution NTT Universal Processing Application [another back-end capability].”
“NTT DATA is proud to be recognized as a UCC leader by Everest Group,” says Charlie Li, Senior Executive Vice President: Cloud and Cybersecurity Services at NTT Ltd. “This is a testament to our industry leadership backed by our global footprint, robust platforms and track record of innovating and creating value for our clients. We look forward to continuing to lead and shape the UCC industry – in particular by reinforcing our generative AI capabilities – and pioneering a better technological future for all organizations.”
