NTT was named Best Global Wholesale Carrier and Best Asia-Pacific Wholesale Carrier at the 17th annual Global Carrier Awards (GCAs) 2021 in a hybrid (in-person and online) ceremony held in London on October 20 during the Capacity Europe 2021 conference. The Global Carrier Awards unite the telecoms and wider ICT industry, recognize its achievements, and highlight the carriers, operators, infrastructure companies and exchanges that keep the world connected. Taking place at the InterContinental London – O2 Hotel, executives from telecom carriers, technology and ICT space, came together to celebrate some of the biggest accomplishments from across the industry over the last 12 months.

“We are honored to receive these recognitions acknowledging NTT’s performance and leadership in the industry,” said Michael Wheeler, executive vice president of the Global IP Network division at NTT Ltd. “These awards further strengthen our commitment to delivering the most innovative solutions for our customers and expanding the connectivity options available around the world.”

Entries for the Global Carrier Awards were assessed by a panel of more than 20 judges, chaired by Carl Roberts, partner at Hadaara Consulting, and resulted in 110 nominations across more than 30 categories. The award ceremony was hosted by Mr. Roberts along with Melanie Mingas, editor of Capacity Magazine.

Ros Irving, CEO of Capacity Media, praised the industry for keeping the world connected during these challenging times. “Your businesses are building blocks for the connected present and the connected future,” Ms. Irving told attendees and viewers watching the event online. “We are truly delighted to be hereafter such a long time and it is fantastic to see you all,” she concluded.
