NTT develops a full digital transformation roadmap for VSA Singapore to streamline operational processes
Singapore, 23 March 2021 – NTT Ltd., a world-leading global technology services provider, has developed a comprehensive digital transformation roadmap for Very Special Arts Singapore Ltd (VSA Singapore), a Singapore-based charity that supports people with disabilities to develop a career in visual or performing arts. NTT provided a clearly laid-out plan to help the organization become digitally enabled to adapt to internal and external disruptions today and beyond. As a non-profit organization with limited manpower and resources, VSA Singapore’s immediate focus is to ensure that day-to-day activities remain managed efficiently. VSA Singapore has been using multiple systems and tools on an ad-hoc basis and were hoping for an IT landscape that could improve their efficiency; enabling them to reach more beneficiaries.
As a purpose-led organization, NTT put together a team of volunteers to help VSA Singapore identify their needs and define a strategic roadmap for their digital transformation journey. NTT started with a consultative approach to identify the pain points and define actionable programs prioritized based on key factors including need, ease of implementation and return on investment.
The group of volunteers pioneered VSA Singapore’s IT Committee and continues to provide guidance to VSA Singapore. For each program defined, NTT provided fit-for-purpose recommendations on how VSA Singapore can implement these solutions swiftly while meeting requirements and cost budgets. NTT also adopted an agile approach to ensure that the requirements can adapt to external market changes as well as internal shifts in priorities.
With NTT’s digital transformation roadmap, one of the programs implemented resulted in approximately 30% of cost savings for VSA Singapore. One of the key guiding principles adopted in the development of this IT roadmap is to ensure efficiency through self-service. The goal is to provide end-users the flexibility to have the independence and authority to perform tasks and activities, without relying on separate teams and third-party providers for simple executions such as updating website content.
“At NTT, we believe in using technology and our people to make the world a better place. We are pleased to be able to contribute to our local community, while working with clients and partners to accelerate their growth and develop new business models to solve today’s challenges,” comments John Lombard, Asia Pacific CEO for NTT Ltd., and a board member of VSA Singapore.
“VSA Singapore is a unique non-profit organization that blends the requirements of a school, an art gallery or event, and an online e-commerce platform. I am proud that our volunteers successfully met the requirements of each of these functions and were able to identify specific programs to prioritize during this challenging time. This is truly a testament to our hard work and close partnership built over the years, and I am honoured to be part of such an empowering project. Together we do great things!”
Maureen Goh, Executive Director at VSA Singapore, said, “We truly appreciate NTT’s strong support and generosity towards our cause over the years. This is the first time we have worked together on a digital transformation project, and we look forward to NTT’s continued support, deep industry expertise, innovation and solutions to better address opportunities and challenges in the new normal.”
