NTT DATA Opens Keihanna Data Center, Expanding Digital Infrastructure in Japan’s Kansai Region
AI-ready, facility strengthens NTT DATA’s footprint in one of Japan’s fastest-growing data center markets
Tokyo, Japan – April 9, 2026 – NTT DATA, a global leader in AI, digital business and technology services, today announced the official opening of its Keihanna OSK11 Data Center in Kyoto, Japan. Designed as a next‑generation, AI‑ready facility, OSK11 incorporates advanced, high‑efficiency cooling technologies and global engineering standards to support growing demand for cloud and AI workloads. The facility, operated by NTT Global Data Centers (GDC), strengthens digital infrastructure in the Kansai region, one of Japan’s fastest‑growing data center markets.
Strategically located in the Osaka–Kyoto corridor, OSK11 delivers 30MW of IT capacity and provides a highly resilient, scalable platform for both hyperscalers and enterprise customers. The facility – NTT DATA’s fourteenth data center in Japan – strengthens the company’s presence in one of Japan’s most important and fastest-growing digital infrastructure markets.
“OSK11 represents a significant milestone in our continued investment in Japan and our commitment to enabling the next generation of digital innovation,” said Doug Adams, CEO of NTT Global Data Centers. “As demand for AI-ready infrastructure accelerates, The Kansai region is emerging as a critical hub for data-driven growth, and OSK11 positions our customers to scale with confidence.”
OSK11 is engineered to meet the highest standards of performance, reliability and security. It features:
- 30MW of IT load supported by dual power substations
- Carrier-neutral connectivity with diverse network paths
- N+1 air-cooled chiller design for efficient, resilient cooling
- 24/7 on-site security operations and multi-factor access controls
The facility is part of NTT GDC’s global platform of more than 160 data centers in over 20 countries, enabling seamless deployment and scalability for multinational organizations. Its launch comes at a time of accelerating demand for digital infrastructure in Japan, driven by cloud adoption, AI workloads and enterprise modernization initiatives. The Kansai region, in particular, has become a strategic alternative and complement to Tokyo, offering geographic diversity and enhanced business continuity.
NTT Global Data Centers will continue to expand its footprint across Japan, supporting customers with secure, sustainable and high-performance infrastructure aligned to evolving digital demands.
