NTT streamlines governance, risk management and compliance for organizations with new software functionality

ControlPanelGRC^® now includes Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC) making compliance automation more efficient and secure for large enterprises

Southfield, Michigan, 4 February 2022 – NTT Ltd. today announced that identifying and mitigating risk just became easier for organizations worldwide with the integration of Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC).

Now available within the ControlPanelGRC® software suite, this new functionality enables NTT customers to meet security and compliance requirements more easily. Through the seamless integration with a company’s HR master data, regardless of whether it is in SAP HR, SAP SuccessFactors, Active Directory or another system, compliance professionals can now automatically create specific roles within the organization with location-based access control to match the unique needs of their business.

ControlPanelGRC is an award-winning and comprehensive compliance automation solution for SAP environments, with support for legacy transactions, Fiori applications, HANA databases, cloud applications and more. Companies worldwide across more than 20 industries – including manufacturing, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, aerospace, defense and more – use the governance, risk management and compliance (GRC) software from NTT to identify and mitigate risk while automating audit readiness.

The new ABAC functionality arrives at a critical moment as enterprises grapple with an increasingly remote workforce that demands comprehensive strategies for access control management – an even bigger challenge for multinational corporations with tens to hundreds of locations around the world.

The new ABAC functionality allows the ControlPanelGRC User and Role Manager module to:

• Match characteristics (job function, job title) with the resources that the end-user needs to access in order to perform their duties.
• Eliminate derived roles and assign master roles to end-users.
• Provide location-based access control based on HR attributes.
• Access HR data from several different sources, including SAP HR, SuccessFactors, Active Directory and more.

For example, a large manufacturing company with 50 plants would only need to define a role – such as a procurement clerk – and then ControlPanelGRC would be able to grant the necessary organizational access based on HR master data, saving considerable time for both access requesters and approvers.

ABAC is now available to existing ControlPanelGRC Access Control customers at no additional cost and is easily configured and deployed by NTT’s SAP security and controls experts to ensure that clients’ systems are aligned to industry standards, SAP best practices and auditor recommendations. This announcement reflects NTT’s continued commitment to ensuring the ControlPanelGRC suite remains the most comprehensive compliance solution for SAP environments.

The new ABAC capabilities were unveiled at the recent ControlPanelGRC 2021 Summit, an annual forum for customers and prospects to learn about new features and the product roadmap as well as hear innovative use cases and detailed case studies from their peers. This year’s event included representatives from 42 clients, including presentations from Delta Faucet Company and Modine Manufacturing.
