NTT launches new cloud services as first AWS Direct Connect Delivery Partner in Thailand

  • Clients to gain a secure and direct connection to the AWS cloud globally via NTT’s Bangkok data centers, instead of going via Singapore
  • In APAC, NTT already provides AWS Direct Connect services in Australia, Japan, Indonesia, and India

Bangkok, Thailand, 08 August 2023 – NTT Ltd., a leading IT infrastructure and services company, announced that it has been recognized by Amazon Web Services (AWS) as its first Direct Connect Delivery partner in Thailand after an extensive technical assessment. With this recognition, NTT Thailand can now offer businesses a direct and secure connection to the AWS cloud globally via NTT’s Bangkok data centers. This partnership will further strengthen NTT’s commitment to providing customers with cloud connectivity via AWS Direct Connect Services.

As an AWS Direct Connect Partner, NTT Thailand can offer dedicated connections of 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps, or 100 Gbps and hosted connections from 50 Mbps up to 10 Gbps. Since these cloud connections are direct and don’t rely on the public internet, businesses can benefit from improved reliability, faster speed, and lower latency, reducing the chance of bottlenecks and enhancing user experience.

With this partnership, the NTT Bangkok Data Centers in Thailand now offer direct network connection to AWS, eliminating the need to connect via Singapore. This benefits clients with secure and high-bandwidth access to their AWS workloads and applications globally, bypassing the internet. With efficient access to AWS VPC, cloud ERP like RISE with SAP on AWS, and Genesys Cloud CX on AWS, with cost savings of as much as 50% in data transfer rates.

NTT’s clients in Thailand will benefit significantly from AWS Direct Connect’s data protection capabilities, including EC2 instance traffic encryption between on-premises locations and the AWS network. As a result, businesses can fortify the security and privacy of their data, thus ensuring that they are well-protected amid an increasingly uncertain cyber threat landscape.

“We are delighted to partner with AWS to bring Direct Connect cloud services to Thailand for the first time. This is a significant milestone for NTT and our clients, as we continue to deliver innovative cloud solutions that empower businesses to grow and thrive in the digital economy. By leveraging our global expertise and local presence, we aim to provide seamless, secure, and reliable cloud connectivity to our clients across various industries and sectors with 24/7 support”, says Sutas Kongdumrongkiat, CEO of Thailand, NTT Ltd.

In Asia-Pacific, NTT already offers AWS Direct Connect services in Australia, India, Indonesia, and Japan. With the addition of Thailand, NTT further amplifies its footprint in the region, providing businesses with a comprehensive network of AWS Direct Connect solutions.
