Excellence in healthcare and technology innovation

As a leader in healthcare and innovation, Hospital Sírio-Libanês faced the challenge of protecting and managing a growing ecosystem of more than 2,500 connected medical devices. As these devices became increasingly complex and data security more critical, the hospital required a solution capable of delivering end-to-end visibility, centralized control, and robust cybersecurity.

"Understanding peak usage and idle times of medical devices enables us to plan movement and maintenance more effectively. It also helps us optimize care delivery routes, enhancing the patient experience during exams and procedures."

A specialized IoMT solution tailored to the challenge

NTT DATA addressed the hospital’s requirements by recommending the deployment of xDome for Healthcare by Claroty — a modular platform designed to integrate Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) devices with the hospital’s existing security and observability infrastructure.

Within just 15 days of implementation, the hospital gained valuable insights into potential vulnerabilities and threats in its environment, as well as opportunities to optimize the use and management of connected devices.

The initiative also included internal awareness campaigns to reinforce a cybersecurity-first mindset across the organization.

Tangible results in security and operational efficiency

Real-time monitoring of connected medical devices enabled Hospital Sírio-Libanês to achieve full visibility across its digital infrastructure. The hospital eliminated 31% of critical risks within its monitored device base, reduced equipment location time by 50%, and fully automated its device inventory.

Improved capabilities to locate, monitor, and manage medical equipment enhanced the daily experience for patients and healthcare professionals, while strengthening the hospital’s overall operational performance. The platform was also extended to include SuperLab — a clinical analysis laboratory launched in 2024 — ensuring continuous protection.

This project reinforces how well-executed digital transformation in healthcare can deliver tangible improvements in security, productivity, and quality of life — for both patients and the professionals working daily in hospital environments.
