Munich 2 Data Center construction progress

The expansion of our Munich 2 Data Center with Building B continues to move forward as the fit-out progresses.

The L4 testing and commissioning process has recently started, which is commonly known as final system testing. The open colo fit-out installation is still due to be completed, but the project is on time and the construction team is scheduled to hand over to the operations team by 27th November 2020. Once Building B is completed, the Munich 2 campus will provide around 6,200m² of IT space and 14 MW of IT load for clients.

Clients and partners can choose from a wide range of flexible, scalable data center services and multiple carrier and cloud connectivity options are available – supporting the region’s large industrial and manufacturing base as well as new economy technology companies and start-ups.

In addition, our Munich 2 Data Center will receive the ‘DE-CIX Enabled Site’ certification with the launch of its second facility, building B at the end of 2020. This means that the interconnection services of DE-CIX are available to our clients directly on-site. Through this cooperation, we provide the data center infrastructure, while DE-CIX operates its own network hardware within the data center.
