The Perfect Fusion of Technology and Art: World's First All-Optical Network Technology Creates Cross-Geographical Synchronized Performance

Taipei - May 28th, 2025 - NTT DATA, a global leader in digital business and IT services, proudly announces its parent company, NTT Corporation, has successfully conducted the world's first cross-geographical real-time synchronized performance utilizing the Innovative Optical and Wireless Network (IOWN) technology. On May 24 and 25, the live performance of "Super Kabuki" at the "Shining Hat" exhibition hall of the Osaka World Expo was simultaneously transmitted back to the Chunghwa Telecom Activity Center in Taipei, creating an unprecedented cross-geographical virtual and real synchronized performance, bringing a groundbreaking cultural and artistic experience that transcends time and space.

As a pavilion partner for the 2025 Osaka World Expo, the NTT Group has collaborated with Chunghwa Telecom to create a performance that combines technology and art: "Super Kabuki" Powered by IOWN 'Feast of Thousand Cherry Blossoms Expo Edition'. Utilizing the advanced IOWN technology All-Photonics Network (APN), this performance connects Taipei and Osaka, 3,000 kilometers apart, achieving high transmission and low latency for real-time synchronized performance.

NTT DATA in Taiwan, supported to facilitate this cross-geographical performance. They invited guests from their important corporate clients to participate, allowing them to personally experience the extraordinary immersive artistic feast and witness this historic moment together.

Frank Liao, CEO of NTT Taiwan Solutions (NTT DATA), stated: "This performance perfectly combines technology and art, showcasing the limitless possibilities of future communication technology. With the rapid development of AI and integrated virtual-real applications, the demand for network transmission will grow explosively. IOWN technology can support higher speeds, lower latency, and lower energy consumption for all-optical network transmission, contributing to sustainable future development."

Ben Hsieh, General Manager of NTT DATA in Taiwan, said: "In addition to cross-geographical real-time synchronized performances, IOWN technology can be applied in other scenarios such as healthcare, education, carbon reduction in manufacturing processes, and smart cities. We sincerely welcome everyone to visit the NTT Pavilion at the Osaka World Expo to experience and further understand the broad application prospects of IOWN technology."

Performance highlights:
