NTT completes its first Microsoft security project for a cellular operator in Indonesia

Holistic approach to information security results in improved agility in responding to security threats, uncompromised productivity and lower integration costs

Singapore, 18 February 2021 – NTT Ltd., a world-leading global technology services provider, today announced the completion of its first Microsoft Security Project for a cellular operator in Indonesia. The engagement with NTT includes consulting, implementation, and managed services to enhance the client’s data security and privacy posture, in compliance with industry standards as well as internal and external security safeguards.

Following an analysis to identify gaps and siloed operations in the client’s existing security policies and processes, NTT implemented a cost-effective solution to manage and protect sensitive data across multiple devices, apps and cloud services.

Over the past 10 months, NTT provided strategic counsel and technical expertise to help the client define business-driven security policies and implement standardized security tools for enhanced data classification and protection. Following an enterprise-wide installation of Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) solutions, including Azure Information Protection (AIP), Office 365 Data Loss Prevention (O365 DLP) and Microsoft Cloud App Security (MCAS), NTT rolled out end-user training for 5,700 employees. NTT will continue to provide end-to-end managed services for a period of one year as part of post-implementation support.

As a result, the client will continue to see lower integration and compliance cost, reduced IT complexity and improved agility in responding to security threats. With more visibility and control over sensitive data, this mitigates end-user friction as users can collaborate more securely over Office 365 services. The risk of data leakage is also reduced as IT will have greater visibility and control over sensitive data as it moves between enterprise to non-enterprise apps, internally and externally.

“The need to integrate security into business and IT systems comes as a top-level priority for us at NTT and our clients, having witnessed major data breaches in the past year alone. This project marks the first Microsoft security project for us in Indonesia and demonstrates the client’s continued trust and confidence in our data protection capabilities and compliance with business policies and external regulations. We are positive that this implementation will translate to improved user productivity, mobility and enhanced data protection for our client,” said Hendra Lesmana, CEO, NTT Indonesia Solutions.
