NTT DATA announces the winners of the 13th edition of its Open Innovation contest

Credit Agricole Bank Polska with Myriad AI and IP API Group with Qsee win with two projects on regulatory compliance and reduction of environmental impact

  • 88 applications received to respond to the 21 challenges designed this year together with the 11 companies including: Mediaset, Fastweb, Sky Italia, ACEA, IP Gruppo API, BNL Bnp Paribas, Credit Agricole Bank Polska;
  • 5 days of co-creation between companies and partners during the Open Innovation week held in the village of San Michele Salentino;
  • Credit Agricole Bank Polska with Myriad AI and IP API Group with Qsee are awarded the financial support for the realization of the proofs of concept in collaboration with NTT DATA.

Milan, Italy - October 18, 2024 - Credit Agricole Bank Polska and Myriad AI with a project to solve regulatory compliance using autonomous AI agents and IP API Group with Qsee to harness AI in improving refinery profitability, sustainability and quality allowing enormous savings and meaningful reduction of environmental impact by reducing CO2 emissions are the winners of the thirteenth edition of NTT DATA's Open Innovation Contest, which for the first time was part of a one-year program, from kick-off to Open Innovation Week held in Borgo Ajeni in San Michele Salentino. 11 large companies created 21 challenges based on real business needs, to which over 80 startups responded. The companies then expressed priorities on 11 challenges and selected 11 startups.

Mediaset, Fastweb, Sky Italia, ACEA, IP Gruppo api, BNL Bnp Paribas, Credit Agricole Bank Polska, a leading mobile telecommunications operator in the Italian market, one of the main Italian tower operators, a leading international company in the field of biomedical lasers and an important company operating in the Aerospace, Defense and Sicurezza are the creators of the 11 challenges selected to meet the ever-changing needs of the business.

Once the applications were closed, the companies selected the ideas and partners with whom to co-create the design solutions, which were then presented during the last day of the Open Innovation Week. The winning project was decreed through the vote of a jury composed of experts, journalists and representatives of the innovation and startup ecosystem.

From digital twins to 5G technology, passing through Generative AI, these are some of the topics of the challenges launched by companies on Discovery, the NTT DATA platform that, thanks to Artificial Intelligence, has allowed corporations to find the startup with which to collaborate.

In the previous edition, the project presented by Vodafone Automotive and Fusionbase was awarded. The German startup had in fact created a platform that provides companies with reclaimed, aggregated and anonymized datasets, in compliance with the GDPR. The project idea envisaged, starting with data from the fleet of connected vehicles, the use of the Fusionbase platform to create innovative solutions capable of dynamically predicting the probability of an event over a certain period of time.

This year, the event's operational partner was Smartway, the digital platform specializing in the organization of corporate events in unique locations, which made available its offsite app, developed to make the involvement of participants more fluid and interactive. The app provides all the information related to the event, including location geolocation features and the ability to chat in real time with all attendees helping to further enhance the overall experience.
