On-prem to GCP migration

NTT DATA assisted Craft Silicon in migrating their workloads from on-premises infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This involved setting up the foundational GCP environment and building the necessary infrastructure to host their applications and databases. We also designed a disaster recovery (DR) solution and configured infrastructure to replicate databases from their on-premises data center in Mumbai to GCP. In addition, we implemented CloudOps to enable proactive monitoring and alerting, enabling the continuous availability of infrastructure and applications.

External user requests were directed to the web layer, where the web server, deployed on Google Compute Engine, connected to the application layer hosting the app server. The application layer was seamlessly integrated with the database layer, using MS-SQL databases hosted on GCP. Continuous replication was established between the on-premises data center and GCP for both the MS-SQL database and the file server. In the DR setup, user requests were routed through the Google Cloud Load Balancer (GLB) to the application layer on Google Compute Engine, strengthening reliability and failover readiness.
