How might Sicredi proactively support members throughout their financial lives, helping them make better decisions, prevent financial vulnerability and build long-term prosperity?
Promoting members’ financial prosperity is central to Sicredi’s cooperative purpose. This commitment goes beyond institutional sustainability: it means helping members develop the knowledge, confidence and capabilities required to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives.
Sicredi is seeking innovative and scalable approaches that strengthen a preventive financial-support mindset across the cooperative system. The objective is to evolve from a predominantly reactive model, focused on collection, renegotiation and recovery after difficulties arise, towards earlier, educational and personalized support.
Proposals should help members better understand their financial situation, anticipate risks and consequences, compare alternatives, build financial knowledge and take manageable action before vulnerability becomes critical.
The challenge is the starting point and the core of this innovation programme. Technologies, platforms and emerging-tech streams are not the objective in themselves. They are possible tools that participants may use to address the challenge and create meaningful outcomes for Sicredi members.
Different solution formats are welcome, including services, experiences, educational initiatives, campaigns, platforms, tools or new member journeys. Proposals should address a relevant member need, align with Sicredi’s cooperative philosophy and demonstrate a clear path toward practical impact.
Sicredi
Sicredi is Brazil’s first cooperative financial institution, providing financial products and services to individuals, families, businesses, microentrepreneurs and the agricultural sector. Its member-owned model promotes collective decision-making, financial inclusion, education, cooperation, local development and shared prosperity.
Current Situation
Sicredi currently provides important services related to credit, financial education, risk management, member relationships, collection, renegotiation and recovery.
However, support in situations of financial difficulty is still predominantly reactive and often becomes more intensive only after a member has already experienced payment problems or financial vulnerability.
Preventive credit practices, financial education, risk monitoring, member segmentation, analytical models, communication rules and support channels are not yet consistently connected through a single and structured member journey. Data, technology platforms and operating practices may also vary across cooperatives and member groups.
Sicredi sees an opportunity to complement its current model with earlier, more personalized and educational support. The ambition is not only to identify financial risk, but to help members make better decisions and progressively build stability and prosperity.
Desired Situation
Sicredi aims to support members proactively and personally throughout their financial lives.
The future experience should help members:
- understand their financial situation;
- identify risks and opportunities;
- anticipate consequences;
- compare possible alternatives;
- improve their financial knowledge;
- define realistic next steps;
- access timely digital or human support;
- strengthen long-term financial stability.
The model should combine prevention, education and personalization while preserving member autonomy. It should support informed decision-making rather than make decisions on the member’s behalf.
The experience should be:
- preventive and educational;
- personalized and member-controlled;
- clear, transparent and actionable;
- inclusive across different income, literacy and digital-maturity levels;
- scalable through digital channels and connected to human support;
- aligned with privacy, fairness, security and trust;
- adaptable across cooperatives, regions and member profiles.
Stakeholders
Internal stakeholders
Strategy, sustainability, innovation, credit, credit risk, collection, renegotiation, products and services, member experience, financial education, relationship teams, data and analytics, AI, IT architecture, digital channels, cybersecurity, privacy, legal, compliance, procurement and participating cooperatives.
External stakeholders
Sicredi members, their families or households where relevant, startups, technology providers and other partners involved in a prototype, proof of concept or pilot.
Primary users
The primary users are Sicredi members.
Participants may focus on a specific segment, such as individuals, families, microentrepreneurs, rural producers or businesses, according to the selected use case.
Possible Solution Directions
This is one strategic challenge with multiple possible solution paths.
The examples below are intended to inspire participants. They do not represent a mandatory scope, predefined architecture or exhaustive list.
Relevant emerging-technology streams may include:
- Generative AI
- Agentic AI;
- Physical AI;
- Digital Humans;
- Spatial Web;
- Digital Twins;
Possible directions may include:
- Personalized financial guidance and assistance: Enabled by Generative AI, Agentic AI, conversational AI, recommendation engines and Digital Humans to provide relevant, understandable and contextual support.
- Preventive financial-health monitoring and early-warning capabilities: Enabled by predictive analytics, machine learning, AI-ready data platforms and behavioural intelligence to identify changes, risks and potential vulnerability at an early stage.
- Financial education and personalized learning journeys: Enabled by Generative AI, adaptive-learning technologies, behavioural nudges, Digital Humans and conversational platforms to deliver accessible and context-sensitive educational content.
- Scenario planning and financial decision support: Enabled by simulation tools, Digital Twins, predictive models and decision-support engines to help members understand consequences, compare alternatives and evaluate possible next steps.
- Employee copilots for relationship and advisory teams: Enabled by Generative AI, Agentic AI, knowledge platforms and data orchestration to help employees interpret information, prepare guidance and provide more consistent support.
- Personalized engagement and behavioural activation: Enabled by behavioural technologies, recommendation engines, journey orchestration and conversational AI to deliver timely messages, educational campaigns and transparent financial nudges.
- Scalable and inclusive digital guidance: Enabled by Digital Humans, conversational interfaces, accessibility technologies and multimodal AI to support members with different levels of financial literacy and digital maturity.
- Integrated member-support journeys: Enabled by data integration, identity governance, orchestration platforms and APIs to connect financial education, risk monitoring, digital channels, employee tools and human assistance.
Participants are not expected to use all these technologies. The selected technology, or combination of technologies, should be appropriate to the member need, the proposed use case and the expected outcome.
Participants may also propose other technologies or approaches not listed above.
Technical Requirements
Requirements should be applied according to the scope and maturity of each proposal.
Solutions should demonstrate a credible path toward responsible, secure and scalable adoption within Sicredi.
Depending on the selected use case, proposals may support:
- personalized financial assessment and education;
- preventive guidance and financial-health monitoring;
- scenario simulation and comparison of alternatives;
- early identification of vulnerability;
- recommendation of manageable actions;
- personalized member engagement;
- support for Sicredi employees;
- connection to qualified human assistance.
Solutions may potentially use account, transaction, income, credit, savings, interaction, product, collection, digital-channel or Open Finance data, subject to Sicredi’s approval, legal basis, consent, availability and security policies.
Where applicable, proposals should demonstrate integration readiness with banking, credit, CRM, risk, digital-channel, employee, analytics, communication and financial-education platforms.
Early-stage solutions may present a future integration path rather than provide full integration.
The solution should:
- support Brazilian Portuguese, or demonstrate the ability to do so;
- reflect Brazil’s financial and regulatory context;
- align with Sicredi’s cooperative model;
- accommodate regional and behavioural differences;
- consider different levels of financial literacy;
- provide understandable recommendations, alerts or simulations;
- allow human review and escalation in sensitive situations;
- apply privacy and security by design;
- comply, where applicable, with LGPD, financial-sector, consumer-protection and Open Finance requirements;
- address fairness, bias, explainability, harmful recommendations and model monitoring;
- mitigate risks such as data leakage, unauthorized access, prompt injection, agent manipulation and unintended actions.
Expected Outcome
The innovation programme is open to different levels of solution maturity.
The expected outcome may be:
- a concept;
- a prototype;
- a sandbox experiment;
- a proof of value;
- a proof of concept;
- a controlled pilot;
- a new member journey;
- an educational experience;
- a digital or hybrid service.
The strongest proposals will:
- address a clearly defined member need;
- contribute to prevention, education or financial prosperity;
- apply technology in a meaningful and responsible way;
- preserve member autonomy and trust;
- demonstrate practical and measurable value;
- present a realistic path toward testing and future scalability.
The central objective is not to introduce a specific technology.
It is to create an innovative and effective way for Sicredi to help its members make better financial decisions, prevent vulnerability and build lasting prosperity.
